SNMPStats Module
OpenSER is a highly capable open source SIP server, capable of acting as a registrar,location, proxy and redirect server. Full details can be found at the official OpenSER website.
It became apparent that while it was possible to collect some statistics from the server through a CLI interface, there was unfortunately no network-centric way to collect this information. This lead to the issue of management scalability. Specifically, the project was lacking a standard SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) interface for collecting statistics. Seeing that I had experience developing SNMP sub-agents, it made sense for me to develop SNMP support. Over the period of four to five weeks, the SNMPStats module was born. Thankfully, it has been popular enough to be picked up as a packaged install for Redhat, Fedora Core, Debian, Ubuntu, and probably other distributions.
